Protagonist Therapeutics in Newark, CA is seeking an experienced AI leader to deliver production-ready AI solutions that drive measurable business impact across R&D, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and Corporate Functions.

The role sits at the intersection of technology, science, operations, and governance. You will blend strategic vision with hands-on execution to scale AI initiatives from pilot to durable, compliant production, on-site four days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 10+ years in technology, data, or digital transformation.
• Experience building and deploying AI/advanced analytics into production.
• Proven ability to drive AI adoption across multiple functions.
• Experience in regulated industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and own AI and digital transformation strategy aligned with priorities.
• Lead design, build, and deployment of AI-enabled products and tools.
• Embed AI into workflows across R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Legal, HR, IT.
• Establish AI governance frameworks addressing model validation, bias, data provenance, regulatory scrutiny.
• Lead a high‑performing AI and digital function and build organizational AI literacy.
