Alignerr is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a remote, hourly contractual role to train and improve AI systems. Your expertise in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and CAD/CAM will guide AI evaluation and development.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree — Master’s (pursuing or completed) or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Domain Expertise in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes.
• Strong Technical Writer able to communicate complex physical phenomena clearly in writing.
• Detail-Oriented with precision for derivations, unit conversions and physical constraints.
• No prior AI experience required; engineering knowledge is sufficient.

Responsibilities

• Design Advanced Engineering Problems — Create challenging, domain-specific problems across areas like FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, fluid mechanics, and material science to test AI performance.
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step technical solutions and golden responses that serve as benchmarks for AI learning.
• Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specs for technical accuracy and safety.
• Identify and Correct Logical Errors — Spot flaws in AI reasoning and provide actionable feedback to improve model accuracy.
