Job Title: AI Technical Project Manager (PM) Lead

Location: NYC

Duration: Contract to hire or Perm (Open for both)

Job Overview:

• We are seeking a highly skilled AI Technical Project Manager Lead to oversee and drive the planning, execution, and delivery of complex AI/ML projects.
• As the bridge between data science, engineering, and business teams, you will ensure projects are aligned with strategic goals, delivered on time, and meet technical and business expectations.
• This role requires a strong technical background in AI/ML, excellent project management skills, and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-functional teams through the lifecycle of AI/ML projects—from scoping to deployment.
• Translate business requirements into technical project plans and timelines.
• Work closely with AI researchers, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders.
• Manage project resources, budgets, and risks to ensure successful project execution.
• Establish and maintain best practices in AI project delivery, including agile/scrum methodologies.
• Track milestones, deliverables, and ensure alignment with OKRs and KPIs.
• Provide clear, actionable reports to executive leadership on project status, risks, and performance.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative culture among technical and non-technical team members.
• Stay current on AI/ML trends, tools, and technologies to guide technical feasibility and project planning.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in technical project management, with 2+ years leading AI/ML-related initiatives.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and data pipelines.
• Proven ability to manage complex software projects using agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Slack, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent.
• Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and monitoring.
• Background in product development or startup environments.
• Familiarity with data privacy, ethics, and compliance in AI.
