Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Software Engineer in Columbus, OH, supporting Nationwide Financial Technology Annuity. The role blends hybrid work with a focus on mentoring and delivering secure technology solutions for a Fortune 100 company.

You will craft new software applications or modify existing ones, driving DevSecOps practices and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions while aligning with Nationwide's agile, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, mathematics or related field preferred.
Six years of programming and systems analysis experience.
Three years of project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to protect data and technology.
Mentor and trains other team members on design techniques, tools and coding standards.
Provide strategic advice on using technology to achieve goals.
Drive cross‑collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
Analyze, design, test, debug, document and deploy software per standards.
Champion DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
Ensure continuous learning and improvement through ongoing training and innovation.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
