Job summary

1872 Consulting is seeking an hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the engineering execution of AI systems and platform services. You will mentor a team in the US and India while contributing to architecture, code, and delivery of production AI systems.

You will drive engineering rigor, improve system architecture quality, and ensure scalable, reliable AI services with strong delivery discipline. Reports to VP, AI and collaborates with Product and Domain leaders.

Qualifications

• 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years developing enterprise AI applications.
• 2+ years of people management or technical team leadership.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-integrated applications.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases and agentic stacks.
• Strong background in backend and distributed systems design.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI systems engineering and production-grade delivery of AI services.
• Coordinate offshore India engineers and US-based team for architecture reviews and code reviews.
• Improve sprint execution and technical accountability across the team.
• Drive observability, monitoring and reliability in AI pipelines and services.
