Job summary

ClarkDietrich is seeking an Intelligent Systems Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain intelligent software systems that combine AI, ML, data engineering, automation, and cloud services. You will translate technical direction into practical engineering solutions under the Technical Manager.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, integration, and production-readiness across backend, data, and cloud components, with collaboration across engineers and IT stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, AI, ML, data science, software engineering, or related field.
• Strong programming skills, preferably Python and modern backend development.
• Experience with applied AI, ML, data processing, automation, or intelligent software systems.
• Experience working with APIs, databases, backend services, and software integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Understanding of software engineering practices, including version control, testing, documentation, and deployment.
• Ability to translate technical direction into working software components.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-enabled software components and automation workflows.
• Build solutions using ML models, LLMs, data pipelines, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
• Implement features, services, integrations, and backend logic per Technical Manager guidance.
• Support prototype development, validation, and transition to production-ready systems.
• Collaborate with team to evaluate technologies and document findings.
