Job summary

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage is seeking a Software Engineer focused on AI systems in a hybrid Irvine, CA setting. You will design and build AI-driven services and agentic pipelines, integrate with Anthropic SDK, and develop RESTful APIs with Python and React/TypeScript frontend work.

You will also own DevOps for AI services, work with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and craft prompt strategies while ensuring testable, scalable code. Strong API and SQL skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with Python and Flask or Django.
• Hands-on experience with Anthropic SDK/API and Claude Console.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Strong experience with RESTful API development.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres).
• Comfortable building and debugging agentic loops (tool-call cycles, multi-turn agents).
• DevOps exposure: Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with testing libraries (pytest, jest) and LLM eval frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy web applications, AI-driven services and agentic pipelines.
• Build and maintain integrations with Anthropic API/SDK.
• Write, iterate, and evaluate prompts for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Develop RESTful APIs and React/TypeScript front ends around AI features.
• Own DevOps for AI services: CI/CD, containerization, cloud deploy, monitoring.
• Write optimized SQL against relational DBs.
• Design automated test frameworks for deterministic and non‑deterministic AI outputs.
• Collaborate cross-functional to translate business needs into AI solutions.
• Maintain technical docs: architecture, prompt design decisions, agent behavior and limits.
