Job summary

SimIS, Inc. seeks an AI Subject Matter Expert to provide Systems Engineering and SETA support to the DoD T&E/S&T program in the National Capital Region. You will evaluate ML model performance and advise on test methodologies for emerging AI capabilities, supporting AI standards and investments across DoD domains.

The role emphasizes robotics/autonomy, machine learning, and system architecture with hands-on algorithm development experience, all within an on-site DoD environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or 10 years of relevant experience
• Degree fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with robotics/autonomy, ML, AI testing, or system architecture specialization
• Experience with DoD S&T, DoD Acquisition, or DoD testing
• Familiarity with MRTFB
• Familiarity with CTEIP
• Familiarity with T&E S&T Program
• Depth of knowledge in robotics/autonomy, ML, AI testing, or machine vision
• Hands-on experience developing or programming ML algorithms
• Broad knowledge of technologies relevant to T&E/S&T Test Technology Areas
• Familiarity with the Systems Engineering process; DAU SE certification desired

Responsibilities

• Provide SETA support to the DoD T&E/S&T program and evaluate ML model performance
• Advise on test methodologies for AI capabilities and autonomy
• Support investment strategy across DoD AI standards, cloud, and AI-enabled technologies
