Job summary

Midland States Bank is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer Intern to support prototyping, testing, and delivering practical AI solutions that embed AI into business workflows. You will work with the AI team to deliver production-ready projects and collaborate across the Bank to ensure governance and security.

The role requires enrollment in a CS/Engineering/Data/IS degree with at least two years completed, the ability to work 40 hours per week, and residency in the St.

Qualifications

• Internship in Summer 2027 (May–August).
• Must reside local to St. Louis, MO, Effingham, IL, or Rockford, IL area.
• Enrolled in a CS/Engineering/Data/IS degree with ≥2 years completed.
• Able to work 40 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team player.

Responsibilities

• Own or contribute to at least one production-focused AI project from idea through delivery.
• Assist building AI agents and applications for business use cases.
• Connect enterprise data via APIs, MCP, or other integration methods.
• Enhance Midland AI platform and develop workflow automations.
• Test new AI models and measure adoption and impact.
• Collaborate with AI and engineering teams while ensuring governance and security.
