Job summary

Illuminative Strategies Inc. is seeking an AI Solutions Consultant – AI and Data Solutions, to work at the intersection of AI engineering, data management, and management consulting.

You will partner with department heads to identify high-impact use cases and deliver working solutions with implementation roadmaps suitable for public-sector scrutiny. The role requires critical thinking, technical problem-solving, and translating business intent into technical execution.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Must live within 40 miles or less of Springfield, Illinois, or be willing to relocate.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
• Provide proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance that meets state requirements.
• 10+ years of experience in technology consulting and hands-on technical delivery.
• Demonstrated experience building with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and agent frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI.
• Proven ability to produce data flow diagrams, process maps, and requirements documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to non-technical executives.

Responsibilities

• Apply process improvement methods (Lean/Six Sigma, DMAIC) to identify inefficiencies AI or automation can address.
• Build agents that accelerate how our team scopes and designs client solutions, including requirements drafting and effort estimation.
• Develop and maintain agents and automations that enhance firm operations.
• Develop, evaluate, and deploy analytical and predictive models for internal decisioning and client deliverables.
• Produce data flow diagrams, process maps, system context diagrams, and as-is/to-be architecture documentation.
• Develop AI roadmaps, readiness assessments, and governance frameworks for public-sector constraints.
• Write business requirements documentation, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Design data models and assess data readiness for AI use cases across systems.

As an AI Solutions Consultant – AI and Data Solutions, you will work at the intersection of AI engineering, data management, and management consulting. You will work closely with department heads and stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases, design and deliver working solutions, producing implementation roadmaps that hold up under public-sector scrutiny. This role requires critical thinking, technical problem-solving, and the ability to translate between business intent and technical execution.

What You Will Do

• Apply process improvement methods (Lean/Six Sigma, DMAIC) to identify inefficiencies AI or automation can address
• Build agents that accelerate how our team scopes and designs client solutions, including requirements drafting, solution option analysis, and effort estimation
• Develop and maintain agents and automations that enhance firm operations
• Develop, evaluate, and deploy analytical and predictive models supporting internal decisioning and client deliverables
• Produce data flow diagrams, process maps, system context diagrams, and as-is/to-be architecture documentation
• Develop AI roadmaps, readiness assessments, and governance frameworks appropriate to public-sector constraints

• Proven ability to produce data flow diagrams, process maps, and requirements documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft 365 Copilot Studio and SharePoint-based knowledge architecture experience
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
• Prior consulting or employment with state, local, or federal agencies
• Experience training or fine-tuning ML/NLP models
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
• Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks
• Familiarity with public-sector compliance frameworks (StateRAMP, CJIS, NIST AI RMF)
