Job summary

Widener University is seeking an AI Solutions Specialist to directly configure, test, and deploy AI tools across Admissions, Financial Services, Registrar, Finance, HR, and IT. The role combines hands-on development with strategic governance, ensuring AI use aligns with policy, data security, and university needs.

The candidate will build practical workflows, train staff, and monitor deployments while maintaining a university-wide view of AI opportunities and licensing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Hands-on experience building AI solutions with current generative AI tools.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms (MS 365 Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude).
• Comfort using data in spreadsheets and APIs.
• Ability to evaluate AI outputs, identify hallucinations and bias.
• Ability to map business processes and drive adoption.
• Strong written and verbal communication; customer-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-value AI opportunities across administrative units.
• Configure, test, deploy AI solutions hands-on (prompts, assistants, retrieval over content).
• Integrate AI with existing systems using workflow automation.
• Monitor deployments; track accuracy, adoption, and improvements; document configurations.
• Define success measures and advise on retirements or rebuilds.
• Design and deliver practical AI training and office hours for staff.
• Evaluate tools and maintain a roadmap of AI use across units.
