Hybrid- 7:00 AM-4:00 PM EST with 1-hour lunch; flexible 8:00 AM-5:00 PM EST

Engagement

40 hours per week; no overtime or weekend work

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineering Lead to serve as the senior technical leader driving enterprise AI transformation within a Finance and Accounting Technology organization. This individual will define and execute the AI engineering roadmap, establish architecture standards, and lead the design and delivery of scalable AI-enabled business solutions.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on AI engineering expertise, enterprise architecture experience, and strong people leadership. In addition to delivering innovative AI solutions, this role will mentor and develop a team of early-career AI engineers, helping them become independent solution owners who deliver measurable business outcomes.

This position requires expertise across the Microsoft AI ecosystem, including Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure OpenAI Service, as well as experience developing agentic AI solutions that use multi-step workflows, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive execution of the AI engineering roadmap across AI-assisted engineering, embedded AI solutions, and agentic systems.


• Establish and maintain AI solution architecture standards for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure OpenAI Service.


• Design, evaluate, and implement AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, and multi-agent systems that support business and operational objectives.


• Mentor and develop junior AI engineers through structured pairing, technical coaching, design reviews, and progressively larger solution ownership.


• Serve as the primary technical representative in enterprise AI Center of Excellence and cross-functional governance discussions.


• Partner with product management and business stakeholders on organization-wide AI adoption, enablement content, AI-assisted work practices, and tooling.


• Lead technical design reviews, architecture decision records, proof-of-concept prototypes, and technical decision-making for new AI capabilities.


• Evaluate emerging AI tools and Microsoft AI platform releases and present assessed recommendations to leadership.


• Own AI development best practices, including security, testing, quality, responsible AI, and human-in-the-loop review patterns.


• Provide technical direction to vendor and external delivery teams, ensuring adherence to architecture, governance, and engineering standards.


• Partner with principal engineering, security, and compliance teams on AI-assisted engineering practices and controls automation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on AI/ML engineering, generative AI, or enterprise AI solution delivery.


• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Apps, and Power Automate.


• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying solutions using Azure AI Foundry or Azure OpenAI Service.


• Strong understanding of agentic AI patterns, including multi-agent orchestration, tool use, planning, and memory.


• Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and developing early-career engineers.


• Experience integrating AI solutions with ERP or enterprise data platforms through REST APIs and OData.


• Proficiency in Python for AI/ML development, automation, and workflow orchestration.


• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex AI concepts for business stakeholders and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or a similar enterprise ERP platform.


• Familiarity with Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework (MAF), or LangChain.


• Experience operating in or contributing to an AI Center of Excellence or similar cross-organizational governance body.


• Background in enterprise finance, accounting, or supply chain technology domains.


• Experience directing vendor, consulting, or offshore delivery capacity.
