Job summary

Wealthspire is seeking a Summer Software Engineering Intern for Chicago, IL to gain hands-on experience on modern software development and infrastructure. You will work with engineers on real projects, contribute to code, testing, and deployment, and learn how business priorities translate into scalable, secure technology solutions.

The 10-week internship provides exposure to IT/AI initiatives, mentorship, and collaboration across engineering and security teams, with a focus on producing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, IT, data science, AI, or related field.
• Strong interest in software engineering and emerging technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or cloud technologies.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation, or data analysis via coursework or projects.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, testing, and deployment of software and AI-enabled solutions under guidance of engineers.
• Contribute to meaningful projects addressing business needs and improving efficiency.
• Assist with writing, reviewing, and debugging code following standards.
• Participate in data preparation, model testing, and evaluation of AI tools as needed.
• Support integration and deployment across development and production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and project updates.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
