Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Washington, DC is seeking an AI Software Engineering Intern for a six-month co-op (Fall 2026). You will work on NOS, the Nuclear Operating System, alongside engineers and nuclear experts to ship real features for production use.

This on-site role includes housing support for co-ops outside the DC metro area and exposes you to enterprise AI tooling in a fast-growing, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS in CS, software engineering, or related field; full six-month term.
• Strong fundamentals in at least one modern language; shipping projects or internships.
• U.S. export controls compliance; U.S. Person status required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build features and modules within NOS: regulatory automation, cost and schedule, supply chain, and portal.
• Develop AI-powered features including LLM APIs and tool-calling.
• Create data integrations with Palantir Foundry, AWS GovCloud.
• Turn prototypes into production-ready features and tooling for field deployment.
