Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Software Engineer for the AI Engineering and Enablement team at the Seattle office. You will develop, test, maintain, and enhance software applications using modern languages and APIs, with AI-assisted development to improve code and testing.

This role requires at least 2 years of software development experience and 1 year exposure to AI-enabled development, with strong fundamentals and collaboration across teams. On-site in Seattle, WA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum of 1 year exposure to AI development or AI-assisted software engineering.
• Experience with at least one modern language, preferably Python.
• Fundamentals of APIs, testing, debugging and version control.
• Familiarity with Git or similar systems and cloud basics (AWS).
• Strong problem solving, communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain and enhance software applications using Python/JavaScript/Java/Go or similar.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable code following standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners and business users to translate requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve issues, escalating risks when needed.
• Participate in code reviews and improve quality and practices.
• Assist integration with APIs, databases, cloud services and tools.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing and documentation.
• Contribute to agile processes and secure development practices.
