Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior AI Engineer on the AI Venture Studio to design and build AI-powered, cloud-native solutions that transform patient outcomes. You will work across APIs, MCPs, and knowledge infrastructure with a focus on reliability and enterprise alignment.

The role operates within six two‑week sprints in a twelve‑week cycle to deliver MVPs for broader adoption. Collaboration with AI, data, UI/UX, and product teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Science, or related field.
• 5+ years designing, building, and scaling software and cloud APIs.
• Proficient in Python and FastAPI and/or TypeScript/Node.
• Hands-on AWS cloud-native app experience.
• Experience delivering AI-powered apps integrating LLMs and workflows.
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, PydanticAI, Claude Agent SDK, or similar.
• Containers, CI/CD, GitHub workflows, testing, and IaC (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation).
• Integrating enterprise LLM services (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok, Bedrock).
• Architectural patterns for scalable AI apps including reliability and security.
• Secure AI patterns: authentication, SSO, secrets, auditability, guardrails.
• Using AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
• Strong communication in fast-paced agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into technical architectures aligned to AI capabilities.
• Drive MVPs toward production readiness with validation of feasibility and value.
• Prototype, validate, and iterate on emerging AI capabilities.
• Provide architecture reviews, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers on chat/copilot, streaming, and UX.
• Ensure security, reliability, observability, and scalable platform patterns.
