Job summary

Google's XR team seeks an AI Software Developer for Android XR, Application Compatibility to advance automated evaluation and compatibility testing. You will help design scalable frameworks for running apps on devices, emulators, and cloud environments, while collaborating with Android XR teams and third-party developers to improve user experiences in XR.

The role requires a BS in CS or related field or equivalent experience, with strong problem solving, debugging, and communication skills.

• Strong problem solving-skills and understanding of algorithms and their level of complexity.
• Strong software and systems troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the architectural design and implementation of a unified automated application runner for Android XR AppCompat.
• Build scalable application execution frameworks that run on physical devices, emulators, and cloud-hosted environments.
• Collaborate with Android and Android XR platform team to develop new capabilities to improve the application experiences in XR.
• Engage directly with third-party developers to get feedback, fix bugs, help design solutions.
• Design, scale, and deliver an automated application evaluation framework using intelligent crawlers, computer vision and Large Language Model (LLMs) to detect spatial layout issues, rendering distortions, overlapping UI elements, and XR-specific input collision problems.

• US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
