As an AI Security Engineer Intern in San Francisco, you will help embed security into CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and platform tooling while contributing to production systems. The internship targets juniors and seniors graduating no later than June 2028, offering mentorship, hands-on projects across Kubernetes, Terraform, and automation, and the potential for a future return offer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field with juniors or seniors graduating no later than June 2028.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals through coursework, internships, research, or projects.
• Experience with Python, Go, Java, C++, Bash or similar languages.

Responsibilities

• Help build security controls in CI/CD pipelines, including static analysis, secrets scanning, dependency checks, and automated policy enforcement.
• Contribute to developer-facing security tooling such as linting rules, reusable workflows, automation, and guardrails.
• Secure Kubernetes and containerized workloads, including access controls, image security, workload configuration, and deployment policies.
• Contribute to security baselines in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IAM, networking, encryption, secure defaults).
• Work with cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, or Azure to identify misconfigurations and improve security visibility.
• Automate detection and remediation of common security issues.
• Participate in threat modeling, code reviews, and architecture discussions with security and platform engineers.
• Turn security findings into practical fixes and collaborate with engineers.
• Improve documentation and tooling to make security controls easy to understand and adopt.
