Job summary

Koniag Operations Services, LLC (KOS) is seeking an experienced AI Security Engineer (Mid) to support AI-enabled security within a federal cybersecurity program housed in Washington, DC, with approved telework options.

The role focuses on AI/ML governance, model development, SIEM enhancements, and automated incident response across the enterprise security stack. A strong background in federal standards and security clearances is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in IT or cybersecurity with AI security, ML, or governance experience.
• Experience developing, training, and deploying ML models for security analytics.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise security tools and workflows.
• Familiarity with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and AI governance guidelines.
• Ability to obtain/maintain MBI or higher; eligible for Top Secret if needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered security solutions for real-time threat detection.
• Develop and maintain ML models for anomaly detection and risk analytics.
• Enhance AI-driven SIEM capabilities (Microsoft Sentinel) with ML rules and UEBA.
• Integrate AI capabilities into the security tool stack and SOC workflows.
• Automate cybersecurity workflows using AI and scripting.
• Support AI governance, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with SOC, security architects, and engineers on delivery.
• Maintain comprehensive model and security documentation.
