WRITER is seeking a Staff Detection and Response Engineer to protect its AI infrastructure. You will design AI-specific threat detections, automate responses, and lead incident coordination across Cloud, AppSec, and AI security teams. The role emphasizes defense-in-depth for a high-value platform and requires 3–5+ years in security operations.

This on-site role is based in the US, with collaboration across security research and infrastructure teams to advance secure AI development.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in security operations or incident response securing AI/ML infrastructure.
• Proficient in Python, KQL, SPL for detection logic and automation.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and forensic investigation in distributed environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-specific threat detection strategies across distributed infrastructure.
• Build automated response playbooks and orchestration workflows to contain threats.
• Lead security incident response coordination across teams and draft clear communications.
• Hunt for sophisticated threats across GPU clusters and training infrastructure.
• Develop detection-as-code frameworks and dashboards tracking security metrics.
• Collaborate across security, infrastructure, and AI research teams to defend the platform.
• Maintain 24/7 on-call coverage for critical AI security incidents.
