Anthropic is seeking a Research Legal team member to advise on data use, licensing, and AI regulations across the lifecycle of frontier AI models. You’ll handle copyright, privacy, data use, and export-control matters while collaborating with researchers and policy teams.

The role emphasizes navigating complex legal questions at the intersection of ML, data, and academic research in a fast-moving environment, with leadership potential in AI legal thought.

Qualificações

• Holds a law degree and meets local licensing requirements (California or New York preferred).
• Ability to apply legal requirements to fast-changing, deeply technical work.
• Exceptional communication and analytical skills with technical fluency.
• Familiar with EU AI Act, U.S. legislation and AI frameworks (GDPR/CCPA).
• Interest in AI’s societal impact and responsible research.
• Sound judgment and a collaborative, low-ego approach in unsettled areas.

Responsabilidades

• Advise research and data teams on data sourcing, licensing and use; shape data strategy.
• Coordinate regulatory readiness and model launches; review documentation and questions.
• Support Responsible Scaling Policy related to biosecurity risk and dual-use questions.
• Counsel on research design, data sharing, collaborations, and publication reviews.
• Monitor global AI, privacy, copyright, and export-control developments; produce guidance.
• Engage with academics, regulators, and industry groups to shape responsible AI norms.
