Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Communications Manager in San Francisco to bring the Institute’s AI research to a broad audience. You will drive research tracking, publication strategy, and reactive press across Economic Research and Societal Impacts, partnering with research teams and policy/editorial colleagues to maintain the Institute’s distinct voice.

You’ll translate complex analytics for public audiences, manage media relationships, and lead multi-channel launches while collaborating with policy

Qualifications

• Have deep communications experience, with significant depth in research, science, economics, or policy communications
• Translate complex, technical, or academic research into public narratives
• Engage credibly with researchers and publish findings publicly
• Maintain strong media relationships across outlets
• Lead multi-channel rollout planning and execution
• Adapt messaging from long-lead strategy to fast-turnaround inquiries

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day communications for the Economic Research and Societal Impacts teams, including research tracking and reactive press
• Lead communications planning and launch execution for major initiatives like the Economic Index
• Develop narratives that translate technical research for broad audiences
• Build relationships with reporters, economists, and think tanks
• Draft communications plans, press materials, and social content
• Partner with policy and editorial teams on publishing strategy
• Prepare researchers for media interviews and speaking engagements
• Collaborate with Institute leadership on major announcements
• Create repeatable rollout playbooks for a growing portfolio
• Monitor research agendas to shape early findings and publication plans
