Virtuous is transforming its data platform to power AI-enabled decision-making and self-service analytics. We seek a Lead Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and own durable platform capabilities, including security models, access controls, cost governance, and trusted data foundations to enable teams and AI systems across the company.

You’ll partner with Data Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Security to ensure accurate, governable data ready for AI workflows at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related infrastructure roles with production ownership.
• Deep expertise in Snowflake, including RBAC, row/column security, warehouse design, cost optimization, governance.
• Strong experience using dbt to build and maintain shared data models, including macro development and production deployment patterns.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience designing reliable ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Proven systems-thinking mindset for tradeoffs across correctness, access, cost, and speed.
• Clear communicator who explains complex concepts to technical and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the evolution of the data platform on Snowflake and dbt, ensuring security, scalability, and AI readiness.
• Design data models, metadata, and access patterns for natural-language querying and AI-assisted analysis.
• Build platform-level controls, governance, and role-based access across systems.
• Collaborate with Security and IT to maintain enterprise IAM alignment and access certifications.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines and testing for dbt and Snowflake; establish platform standards.
