Job summary

OpenSesame is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a lean data engineering team and own the Data Governance & Accessibility program. You will architect scalable data systems, guide ingestion and transformation, and enable analysts with reliable data solutions across the enterprise.

You will balance people management with technical leadership, drive process improvements, and align data initiatives with business strategy in a remote-friendly, US-based environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of data engineering teams and programs.
• Experience designing scalable data architectures and governance.
• Strong familiarity with Snowflake-based platforms and modern data tooling.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and mentor a lean data engineering team.
• Own Data Governance & Accessibility program and enterprise data assets.
• Lead architecture decisions for ingestion, transformation, and AI-ready layers.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with analytics, product, and business leaders.
• Evolve standards for data ownership, lineage, testing, and monitoring.
