Job summary

Perplexity is seeking an analytics engineer or data engineer who will design core data models, pipelines, semantic layers, and warehouse workflows. You will ensure data is secure, privacy-aware, and understandable to humans and AI agents across the company.

The role blends analytics engineering, data engineering, governance, and internal product. You’ll care about dimensional modeling, cost-aware warehouse design, and scalable data assets for data scientists and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Deep SQL expertise for complex warehouse queries.
• Hands-on dbt or similar transformation framework experience.
• Experience building and owning production data pipelines.
• Warehouse administration, cost management, and performance tuning.
• Governance, privacy, access controls, retention, and lineage mind-set.
• Ability to use AI to speed up development, documentation, QA, and automation.
• Translate messy analytical requirements into trusted models and metrics.
• Take projects from ambiguity to production with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build core data foundation: models, marts, pipelines for fast, reliable analysis.
• Manage data warehouse architecture, environments, permissions, and costs.
