Job summary

TRM Labs is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead, AI & R&D to drive how the company invests in AI, cloud, and compute infrastructure. You will partner with the CTO and R&D leadership to turn usage, billing, and headcount data into investment recommendations before decisions are made.

You will design the financial architecture for R&D from the ground up, with AI embedded in processes and workflows, and report to the Head of Strategic Finance and FP&A.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across strategic finance, FP&A, business operations, or a related role.
• Experience owning end-to-end analyses and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
• Strong data-informed modeling skills including driver-based forecasts and capacity models built from complex data.
• Hands-on experience analyzing cloud, compute, AI, or usage-based technology costs and partnering with engineering/product leaders.

Responsibilities

• Shape TRM's AI spend strategy and investment cases with the Head of AI.
• Build AI-assisted, driver-based economic models connecting usage and billing data.
• Lead forecasting, planning, and headcount capacity with automated workflows.
• Provide clear executive and board narratives on R&D performance and ROI.
• Collaborate with CTO, engineering, and data teams to drive decisions and accountability.
