Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced counsel or policy professional to join the public policy team in Washington, DC. You will focus on U.S. AI policy, analyze proposed legislation and regulation, and serve as an AI subject matter expert for the Americas public policy team.

You will partner with legal, government affairs, product and technical teams to shape policy positions, advise on AI products, and engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry groups to advance TikTok's policy goals.

Qualifications

• JD or extensive government/in-house/law firm experience required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. AI laws, proposals, and regulatory frameworks, federal and state.
• Experience advising on AI or emerging technology for tech companies or digital platforms.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal/public policy guidance for nontechnical audiences.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration and leadership across teams.

Responsibilities

• For AI policy, analyze proposed legislation and regulation at state and federal levels.
• Advise on AI-related products, governance, and product launches.
• Develop clear policy positions and messaging for external audiences and policymakers.
• Collaborate with legal, product, technical, and government affairs teams to assess AI requirements.
• Represent TikTok with policymakers, regulators, and industry groups.
