Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking an AI Prompt Engineer to join the BEAGLE ASF Team supporting CBP in the DMV area. You will design, test, and optimize prompts for large language models to deliver high-quality outputs for diverse use cases in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The role emphasizes experimentation, understanding how LLMs interpret language, and applying RAG and fine-tuning strategies. Onsite work in Ashburn, VA or DC area may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen able to pass CBP background investigation.
• 3-year felony check, 1-year drug use check, 1-year misconduct check.
• High School diploma or equivalent completed prior to start.
• Onsite work in Ashburn, VA and/or Washington, D.C.
• Problem-solving with a data-driven approach to experimentation and optimization.
• Strong written and verbal communication to articulate complex concepts.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prompt Design & Optimization: Develop, refine, and iterate on prompts for generative AI models to elicit desired behaviors.
• Iterative Testing & Analysis: Conduct testing to compare prompt variations, analyze results, and drive improvements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with multiple groups to integrate prompts to streamline processes.
• Research & Development: Stay abreast of AI advancements and prompt engineering techniques.
• Fine-tuning & RAG Support: Contribute to strategies for model fine-tuning and retrieval augmented generation.
• Problem Solving: Debug unexpected model behaviors and identify root causes in prompt structure or data context.
