PDS Tech Commercial partners with a biotechnology leader to drive enterprise AI initiatives from pilot to production.

This hands-on AI Project Manager will oversee delivery across R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing and Corporate functions, guiding initiatives from intake to production and ensuring measurable business value.

You'll coordinate governance, adoption plans, and executive communications, while thriving in a lean, outcomes‑driven team in a hybrid San Diego setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing technical delivery for AI or ML at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience delivering generative AI solutions (enterprise search, document intelligence, or conversational assistants).
• Practical experience delivering agentic AI with multi-step workflows, human-in-the-loop controls and guardrails.
• Knowledge of enterprise AI platforms such as Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Glean, Power Automate, and UiPath.
• Understanding data readiness, analytics delivery, and platform architecture impact on AI outcomes.
• Experience delivering in regulated environments with Legal, Security and Compliance approvals.
• Strong MS ecosystem familiarity (Azure, Fabric, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams).
• Excellent executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to onboard quickly, work independently, and thrive on a lean team.

Location: San Diego – hybrid | Payrate: $103 - $113/hour | Schedule: 1st shift, Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the biotechnology industry to find an experienced AI Project Manager to drive the delivery of enterprise AI initiatives from pilot to production.

This is a hands‑on, six‑month contract opportunity for a delivery‑focused leader who can manage an active AI portfolio across R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing, and Corporate functions. You’ll help transform AI capabilities—including enterprise search, document Q&A, report drafting, meeting intelligence, request triage, and agentic automation—into solutions that deliver measurable adoption and business value.

What You’ll Do

Portfolio & Project Delivery

• Sequence an active AI roadmap against team capacity, business value, and priorities.
• Drive initiatives from intake through pilot to production, managing scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and launches.
• Resolve delivery blockers and keep project teams moving toward committed outcomes.
• Lead agentic AI initiatives, defining workflows, human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints, escalation paths, guardrails, monitoring, and rollback plans.

Governance & Partnerships

• Prepare and manage submissions through the AI Policy Review Committee.
• Partner early with Legal, Security, IT, and Compliance to build required approvals into delivery plans.
• Manage implementation partners and SaaS vendors against SOWs, timelines, and commitments.

Adoption & Executive Communication

• Develop adoption plans, including pilot cohorts, utilization tracking, enablement, and measurable adoption targets.
• Prepare concise status updates, decision materials, and steering presentations for VP and executive leadership.
• Maintain transparent prioritization and clearly communicate tradeoff decisions.

Your Boarding Pass — Required Qualifications

• 5+ years managing technical delivery, including experience taking AI or machine learning initiatives from concept through production at enterprise scale.
• Hands‑on experience delivering generative AI solutions, such as enterprise search, document intelligence, or conversational assistants.
• Practical experience delivering agentic AI, including tool use, multi‑step workflows, orchestration, human‑in‑the‑loop controls, guardrails, and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of enterprise AI and automation platforms such as Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Glean, Power Automate, and UiPath, or comparable technologies.
• Understanding of data readiness, analytics delivery, and how platform architecture impacts AI outcomes.
• Experience delivering in regulated environments where Legal, Security, and Compliance approvals are part of the critical path.
• Strong familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Fabric, Entra ID, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Excellent executive‑level written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to onboard quickly, work independently, and thrive on a lean team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in biopharma, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with GxP or MNPI considerations.
• Experience supporting an AI governance or review committee.
• Exposure to data governance, classification, ownership, stewardship, and access frameworks.
• Vendor management and SOW/contract administration experience.
• PMP, Agile, or equivalent certification.

Pay Details:

$103.00 to $113.00 per hour
