Job summary

Aptive is seeking an AI Program Manager to lead a multidisciplinary delivery team for the Veterans Health Administration’s National Artificial Intelligence Institute. The role focuses on building an operating model to scale AI, and on establishing field operations to enable clinicians to adopt AI solutions.

This is a remote, full-time contingent position. The candidate will oversee multiple workstreams, develop governance processes, and report outcomes to senior leadership while ensuring program

Qualifications

• 15 years minimum of program management experience across diverse IT projects, large and small.
• Master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Data Science, Informatics, Business, or related field.
• PM certifications preferred: PMP, SAFe Agilist or SAFe Program Consultant, Prosci change management.
• U.S. work authorization; ability to obtain/maintain VA background checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical program leadership for the contractor team across all six workstreams and align with a single operating model.
• Develop and implement AI center of excellence playbook and staffing model.
• Document governance processes to enable AI work outside the central Institute while maintaining oversight.
• Lead field partnership pilots and AI project development teams across multiple units.
• Support government leadership with delivery status, resourcing, and risk reporting.
