Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling seeks a strategic AI products leader to define and drive AI-powered solutions that improve drilling performance and safety. You will partner across Operations, Engineering, HSE, and Commercial to identify high-value AI opportunities and lead a multi-year product roadmap with measurable business impact.

You will build and mentor an AI products team, collaborate with Data Science and Software Engineering, and champion adoption of Generative AI technologies across drilling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in drilling technology, AI products, industrial software, digital solutions, or product management.
• Proven track record delivering business value with drilling operators or oilfield service companies.
• Experience leading software, AI, or digital product initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Strong understanding of drilling operations, rig workflows, drilling performance, and well construction.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, CV, ML, automation, and modern AI frameworks.
• Experience integrating data from telemetry, equipment, reporting, and third-party data via APIs and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations, Engineering, HSE, Maintenance, and Commercial to identify AI-driven high-value opportunities.
• Lead vision, strategy, and lifecycle management of AI-enabled products for drilling ops, HSE, and customer solutions.
• Develop and execute a multi-year AI product roadmap aligned with Digital Solutions strategy.
• Define requirements for telemetry, sensor data, drilling reports, downhole data, maintenance, HSE events, ERP, and third-party data.
• Manage lifecycle from ideation to deployment, commercialization, and continuous improvement.
• Build and mentor a high-performing AI Products & Solutions organization including PMs, Data Analysts, UX, and AI specialists.
• Recruit, coach, conduct reviews, and build future leadership capability.
