Job summary

Diamondback Energy is seeking an AI Product Owner - Engineering to act as the primary business representative for AI products supporting Drilling, Completions, Production Operations, Marketing, and field workflows.

This role owns the product outcome lifecycle from discovery through adoption, prioritization, and continuous improvement, collaborating with AI Engineering & Delivery for feasibility and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to oil and gas
• 5+ years supporting drilling, completions, production operations, marketing, or similar functions
• Experience leading cross-functional technology or business transformation initiatives
• Experience translating workflows into clear requirements, priorities, and measurable outcomes
• Experience with data systems and platforms (Spotfire, WellView, Ignition, Snowflake, XSPOC, Python, Power BI)
• Experience delivering AI/ML or analytics products from concept to adoption

Responsibilities

• Partner with Drilling, Completions, Production Operations, Marketing, and stakeholders to understand workflows and data needs and identify AI opportunities
• Own problem definition, product vision, target users, roadmap, priorities, and success measures with sponsors
• Lead rapid discovery and prototypes to validate business problems and test assumptions
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Manage backlog, prioritize scope, lead validation and user acceptance testing
• Collaborate with technology, data, security, governance, legal, and risk to deliver compliant AI solutions
• Represent stakeholder needs and coordinate dependencies across functions
• Own post-launch performance and drive continuous improvement
