Job summary

Arena is seeking an Associate General Counsel focused on AI product and privacy. You will be embedded with product and engineering teams, leading the global privacy program, shaping AI governance, supporting commercial data transactions, and building scalable legal processes and tooling.

Requires 8+ years in privacy/product counseling, JD with California bar, and hands-on privacy program experience. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and a passion for responsible AI are essential.

Qualifications

8+ years of legal experience in privacy and product counseling.
JD and active membership in a U.S. state bar (California preferred).
Experience building and running a global privacy program with GDPR/CCPA/CPRA knowledge.
Ability to translate legal requirements into practical guidance for product/engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Counsel product and engineering teams on privacy, IP, consumer protection, and enterprise use cases.
Own Arena’s global privacy program with privacy-by-design and cross-border data transfer know-how.
Advise on responsible AI development and emerging AI regulation across jurisdictions.
Design contractual/operational data flow frameworks and negotiate privacy terms with customers/partners.
Develop internal tools and playbooks; scale legal processes and tooling for compliance.
