Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Arlington, VA is hiring for a Software Development Engineer to help build AI-native, scalable testing platforms and AI-powered tooling.

You will deliver high-quality, reliable software across AWS regions, shaping the future of AI-enabled development at scale. You’ll partner with engineering leads and customers to influence architecture and roadmaps, while maintaining strong developer experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Quickly and reliably delivering high-quality technical solutions that delight our customers;
• Building and operating distributed systems at global scale - serverless test orchestration, on-demand execution across every AWS region, and load testing platforms processing millions of transactions per day;
• Demonstrating good taste in developer experience and tooling design through the SDLC;
• Partnering with your manager and engineering leads to influence technical architecture and product roadmaps;
• Meeting with customers to learn and help them achieve their goals;
• Setting a high bar of technical and operational excellence, and empowering your colleagues to continuously meet and raise the bar.
