Job summary

CircleCI is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to protect its cloud, CI/CD, and customer data. You’ll lead threat detection, incident response, and security tooling efforts, leveraging AI to improve detection and automation across CircleCI’s infrastructure.

The role collaborates with Engineering to translate risk into practical recommendations and contribute to the security roadmap while staying current on AI-driven security threats.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security engineering or security operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud, application, and CI/CD security (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with security incident response and common tooling (EDR, CNAPP, SASE, scanners, log analysis).
• Ability to build and maintain security automation and tooling (Go, Python, Terraform).
• Experience using AI/ML-powered security tools in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Threat Detection & Incident Response: monitor, investigate, and respond to threats using AI-assisted tooling.
• Security Engineering & Architecture: build and maintain tooling, controls, and automation across cloud and CI/CD environments.
• AI & Security: incorporate AI-powered tools and evaluate new technologies for detection, response, and automation.
• Cross-Team Partnership & Ownership: collaborate with Engineering to translate risk into actionable guidance and contribute to roadmaps.
