Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an engineer to tackle power optimization across data center, gaming, and automotive GPUs, as well as networking chips. You will study RTL and architecture power, run AI/ML‑driven analyses, and develop pre‑silicon power methodologies with Architects, RTL designers, and Performance Engineers.

You’ll use industry tools, prototype Verilog features, and share best practices while contributing to energy efficiency and design improvements. Equity and benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering with AI, Digital Design or VLSI coursework/experience.
  • Understanding RTL power optimization fundamentals and low‑power design patterns at RTL level.
  • Knowledge of backend flows (logic synthesis, place‑and‑route) and impact on post‑layout power/timing.
  • Exposure to RTL low‑power techniques (clock gating, power gating, multi‑VT).
  • Experience with power analysis tools such as PowerArtist or PrimeTime PX.
  • Strong Python for automation, data pipelines, and ML‑driven analysis flows for RTL power optimization.
  • Experience debugging RTL or gate‑level power anomalies by tracing logic cones.

Responsibilities

  • Use internal and industry pre-silicon power analysis tools to improve product power efficiency.
  • Apply AI to deliver RTL/Architecture power optimization solutions.
  • Develop and share best practices for pre-silicon power analysis.
  • Perform comparative power analyses to spot trends and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with architects and RTL designers to interpret power data and drive fixes.
  • Select and run workloads for power analysis.
  • Prototype new architectural features in Verilog and analyze power.
