Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a Lead/Senior/Principal Builder to turn customer problems into shippable software. You’ll work on AI-driven discovery, design, and delivery, across payments, consumer apps, platforms, and enterprise experiences, on a small team responsible for business outcomes.

You will write production code, use AI agents throughout the lifecycle, run experiments, and build reusable capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software with real users; engineering, product, design, or founder backgrounds welcome.
• Fluent in implementing, debugging, and operating production software; depth in at least one discipline.
• Daily use of AI and coding agents; ability to show impact of AI tools on outcomes.
• Regular experimentation with new AI capabilities, with a clear view of limits.
• Strong product sense, design judgment, and data fluency; understand customer needs.
• Excellent verification habits and clear communication; identify plausible but incorrect output.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer problems, shape solutions, and build the smallest useful version to test hypotheses.
• Write and ship production code across interfaces, APIs, data, and agent workflows.
• Use AI agents throughout research, design, implementation, testing, and debugging.
• Experiment with new models and capabilities; convert successful ones into product features.
• Choose models, code, or tools to fit problems and determine lasting value.
• Own tests, observability, failure handling, and compliance in production work.
• Work directly in customer environments, delivering integrations and reusable capabilities.
• Instrument ships, evaluate adoption and outcomes, and adjust directions as needed.
