Span is hiring to build the internal platform tooling that empowers engineering teams to move faster, ship reliably, and reduce operational overhead. You’ll work on a developer portal, software catalog, and automation to cut cognitive load across microservices and monoliths.

We’re looking for someone with platform engineering experience, FS like LLMs/AI agents, and a track record of shipping tools that boost developer productivity. This is a hands-on, high-agency role in a fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• Experience building internal tooling and platform engineering.
• Early engineering hire or founder experience.
• Strong systems thinking and automation focus.
• Experience with LLMs, AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Comfort with infrastructure and backend tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build the internal platform tooling and developer experience to move engineering teams faster and more reliably.
• Identify platform gaps with engineering teams and improve reliability and scalability.
• Leverage AI/LLM-based automation to streamline platform operations and workflows.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver a usable software catalog and engineering portal.
