Job summary

84.51° seeks a Lead Software Engineer to join our AI Software Development Lifecycle team and build the engineering backbone that scales AI-assisted development across 84.51° and Kroger. You will shape deployment automation, templates, and a prompt/skill marketplace to accelerate adoption at scale.

This hands-on, platform-focused role spans DevOps, Developer Experience, and AI Enablement, requiring technical leadership and production‑quality code.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development on Agile teams (Python preferred).
• 5+ years of public cloud experience (Azure preferred).
• 3+ years in Platform Engineering/DevEx or related roles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
• Familiarity with AI concepts such as LLMs, Agents, and MCP.
• Experience with AI tooling like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and build deployment automation for AI workforce tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define standards for AI tooling configuration, security, and observability across teams.
• Ensure observability of AI tooling adoption and usage patterns.
• Own and evolve the internal prompt and skill marketplace across the enterprise.
• Develop workflow playbooks codifying AI-SDLC integration patterns.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to embed AI tooling in development workflows.
• Document and present learnings to the AI Enablement organization.
• Engage with technology, infrastructure, and product teams to integrate AI tooling.
• Participate in team on-call rotation and provide user support.
