plus10, a Fraunhofer IPA spin-off, seeks an Internship in Plastics Engineering & AI-Based Process Optimization (m/f/d). You will apply plastics tech with data science to optimize real-time molding processes.

The role spans machine configuration, data integration, and collaborative development within an interdisciplinary team. As you gain project experience, you will gradually assume technical responsibility for Hopper, contributing to process stability, setups, and AI-enabled improvements across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, or related field, or technical training with relevant experience.
Experience in plastics processing, especially injection molding—setup, optimization, troubleshooting.
Experience coordinating technical projects; structured and independent work.
German at business level, English at B2.
Willingness to travel 10–20% (Germany + EU).

Responsibilities

On-site technical requirements assessment: machine configuration, data availability, OT connectivity.
Coordinate integration of machine control systems and OPC UA interfaces.
Configure the hopper for the specific process (material, machine, quality objectives).
Provide orientation and training for machine set-up operators, shift supervisors, and process engineers.
Transition to stable operation and ongoing technical support.
Independently manage ongoing Hopper implementation projects.
Pass customer requirements to the development team and translate shop floor into feature requests.
