Job summary

Skip seeks its first dedicated finance hire to transform finance from basic bookkeeping to a live operating system. You will own cash flow management, move from cash to accrual, and implement AI-native workflows while partnering with manufacturing and operations.

You’ll automate close processes, build a robust financial model, and lead Series A readiness with strong GAAP policy and debt financing experience.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting fundamentals and GAAP knowledge.
• Experience transitioning from cash to accrual accounting.
• Ability to build AI-driven finance workflows and tools.
• Familiarity with APIs, SQL, and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Own cash flow management across supplier and customer terms.
• Move books from cash to accrual; manage capex, inventory, fixed assets.
• Set up warranty reserves, product liability accounting, and insurance coverage.
• Migrate from Xero to AI-native finance tools; streamline POs and approvals.
• Build workflows and agents to automate close, reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Lead working capital strategy: inventory, financing lines, and debt options.
• Build and own a live financial model with scenario planning.
• Lead Series A readiness: financials, board materials, data room, diligence.
