Job summary

Areté's IT Business Systems team seeks a Staff Business Apps Developer to design and build internal applications, automate processes, and integrate ERP and SaaS platforms. You will work from written specs, ensure secure handling of data, and own architecture and documentation.

You'll collaborate with end users and business leaders, demonstrate working software, and train users. The role requires Azure deployment experience and strong communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu.
• Minimum of 3 years building and supporting business applications, integrations, or process automation solutions.
• Experience with AI coding agents and working from written specs to ship code.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL; ability to query and model data across systems.
• Experience deploying applications in a cloud environment (Azure preferred).
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• Strong stakeholder skills; able to present to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy custom internal applications and automation solutions from requirements through production release.
• Use AI coding agents as a primary development tool, owning correctness, security, and documentation.
• Build and maintain integrations between ERP, PLM, HR, engineering, and SaaS systems using APIs and data flows.
• Deploy and maintain solutions in Microsoft Azure with CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Produce technical documentation: architecture diagrams, data flows, runbooks, and end‑user materials.
• Provide post‑deployment support and troubleshooting while ensuring security and compliance.
