Cognition is seeking an AI Policy Lead to shape engagement with policymakers, regulators, and government stakeholders as AI impacts national security and economic competitiveness. You will bridge technical innovation and public policy, helping policymakers understand AI opportunities and implications while staying informed on evolving regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of public policy or related experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Ability to translate technical AI concepts for non-technical audiences
• Interest in AI, governance, and national security

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze emerging AI policy developments in the United States and key international markets
• Develop policy positions, briefing materials, white papers, and executive-level recommendations
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government agencies, think tanks, and industry groups
• Support executive engagement with Congress, the Executive Branch, regulators, and international government stakeholders
• Represent Cognition in policy discussions, industry groups, and conferences
• Translate technical AI capabilities into clear, actionable policy narratives for diverse audiences
• Identify opportunities for public-private partnerships to accelerate AI adoption in government
• Anticipate policy risks and opportunities that could impact company strategy and product development
