Job summary

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) seeks a Deputy Director and Labor Impacts Senior Fellow to advance AI governance research and oversee labor and economic impacts. This role will support the Director in strategic planning, research leadership, and stakeholder engagement in Washington, DC.

Under the Director, you will help manage day-to-day workflow, supervise researchers, contribute to major reports, engage with policymakers, and participate in fundraising and budget

Qualifications

• Master's-level or higher in technology, public policy, or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Ph.D. is preferred for advanced research leadership.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Wadhwani Center Director on AI policy and economic impacts.
• Oversee AI economic and labor impacts research.
• Write policy papers and guide independent and collaborative research.
• Lead outreach, convene expert groups, and represent the program publicly.
• Manage budget, grants, and fundraising in coordination with the Director.
• Cultivate relationships with government, industry, academia, and partners.
