Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to strengthen security for AI adoption across the firm. This role focuses on protecting AI systems throughout their lifecycle, with emphasis on identity, network, and logging capabilities and strong automation in a growing technology footprint.

Responsibilities include securing the AI gateway, hardening integrations, enforcing guardrails, and building scalable security automation and telemetry pipelines for SIEM integration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of overall technical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in information security or cybersecurity engineering.
• Hands-on experience securing platforms and agent or tool-based systems.
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP), agent frameworks, tool integrations, or comparable integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Secure and operate the AI gateway that brokers access between users, agents, model providers and connected services.
• Review and harden AI agent and tool integrations for scope, credentials, and data-exfiltration risk.
• Define and enforce security guardrails for model inputs, outputs, and tool usage; measure effectiveness.
• Build automation using supported APIs to reduce manual security operations.
