Job summary

The Judge Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Technical Lead - AI Platform to architect, build, and lead production-grade AI systems. This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership to drive end-to-end AI product development.

You will own data engineering, model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization, leading a high-performing team of engineers and collaborating with product and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI development.
• 5+ years of experience leading technical teams, engineering organizations, or architecture initiatives.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and deploying production-grade AI/ML systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, MLOps, cloud architecture, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience operationalizing large language models (LLMs) in enterprise environments.
• Experience implementing solutions for hallucination mitigation, AI governance, security and privacy controls, performance monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable ML platforms including data pipelines, feature stores, training environments, inference services, and monitoring.
• Architect AI-native apps using foundation models, RAG, and agent-based workflows embedded in products.
• Build on GCP and OCI cloud platforms.
• Develop privacy-first AI systems meeting food industry compliance and data governance.
• Create explainable AI frameworks for transparency and business validation.
• Design multi-tenant architectures with strict data isolation, security, and performance.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow, and Apache Beam.
• Train, fine-tune, and deploy ML models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Build full-stack AI apps using Python, Java, React, Angular, and cloud-native tech.
• Implement robust MLOps practices for reproducible training, CI/CD, governance, monitoring, and cost optimization.
