Job summary

Waters Corporation leads the AI Centre of Excellence to build and operate a scalable AI platform that powers multiple AI agents and solutions. The role combines senior technical leadership with hands-on delivery to ensure secure, reliable, and cost-effective AI services across the enterprise.

The Principal Engineer will set engineering standards, guide critical designs, mentor platform engineers, and collaborate with security, cloud ops, and architecture teams to deliver high-impact platform

Qualifications

8+ years of software/platform engineering leadership, with enterprise exposure.
Experience building or operating AI/generative AI platforms in production environments.
Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Lead the AI platform engineering team and its supporting services.
Own reliability, security, scalability, and operational health of the platform.
Translate architecture direction into maintainable engineering solutions.
Apply automated testing, quality gates, deployment tooling, and operational readiness practices.
Lead cloud platform, CI/CD, and deployment practices for AI workloads.
Define monitoring, logging, and observability standards across the platform.
