Job summary

Verizon is seeking a skilled AI Engineer to design and deploy MCP servers and tools, connecting LLM agents to internal systems. You will build agentic workflows and integrate developer tools into the SDLC, applying prompt engineering and open-source model optimization.

You should have 4+ years in AI/ML software engineering, experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Devin AI, and IDE extensions. This hybrid role includes working from home with in-office days in NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant AI/ML software engineering experience.
• Experience building MCP servers, tools, and integrations connecting LLM agents to internal systems.
• Knowledge of IDE extensions (VS Code) and developer workflow automation in SDLC pipelines.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Devin AI.

Responsibilities

• MCP Server & Tool Development: design, build, deploy MCP servers and tools to connect external APIs and data sources with AI coding agents.
• Agentic Workflows: develop and fine-tune agentic workflows and multi-agent architectures.
• Prompt & Context Engineering: apply prompt design, context injection, and mitigation strategies.
• Developer Tool Evaluation & Integration: evaluate, test, and integrate AI developer tools and IDE extensions into workflow.
• Open-Source & LLM Optimization: evaluate, fine-tune, optimize, and deploy open-source models.
• Rapid Prototyping & Research: conduct quick R&D on GenAI tools and frameworks.
