Job summary

CSI in Clayton, NC seeks an AI Engineer II to design, build, and support AI platform components and reusable workflows. You will partner with software teams to deliver secure, scalable AI-enabled software, and contribute to production-quality AI applications.

You will work on AI Harness components, evaluation workflows, and tooling, with emphasis on reliability, safety, and developer productivity, including on-call support for AI-enabled services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or platform teams.
• Strong programming, API, and cloud-based application development skills.
• Experience with LLM patterns, prompt engineering, and AI tooling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI platform components, services, and internal tools.
• Implement model routing, prompts, API integrations, and reusable utilities.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability of AI tools.
• Provide on-call support and incident remediation for AI services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to reduce duplication and build libraries.
• Create evaluation workflows, tests, and benchmarks for AI capabilities.
• Assist with release management and lifecycle for prompts and agents.
• Analyze AI behavior for quality, cost, latency, and security concerns.
