Job summary

ABC Fitness seeks an AI Platform Engineer to own and operate critical platform deliverables end to end. You will design, build, and operate capabilities such as LLM gateways, retrieval systems, and developer tooling, while defining clear success metrics and ensuring robust observability.

You will partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and SRE teams to deliver scalable, secure AI capabilities that teams can adopt with confidence and minimal handholding.

Qualifications

• Experience building or operating production retrieval systems and AI tooling.
• Design and operate distributed systems within an existing architecture.
• Ability to reason about consistency, idempotency, and security risks.
• Track record of owning platform capabilities end to end.
• Strong collaboration with engineering, product, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Own a platform deliverable from problem definition through production launch and maintenance.
• Design and operate capabilities such as LLM gateways, retrieval systems, agents, and tooling.
• Define success criteria and use production data to guide improvements.
• Ensure observability, fault handling, and scalable operational processes.
• Create clean interfaces and migration paths to enable adoption by teams.
• Establish reusable patterns and reference implementations for production AI systems.
